How Spacebar Counter writes, tests, reviews and corrects what you read. Last updated: October 22, 2026.
Our principles
- Original writing. Every page is written for this site. Timer pages are written individually, not copied from one template with a number swapped in.
- Honest numbers. Where we give a score target we say it is an informal practice reference. Where a number is simple arithmetic (for example, 60 presses in 10 seconds is 6 per second) we show the calculation.
- No invented facts. We do not publish made-up statistics, fake leaderboards, placeholder players or unverifiable “world records”.
- Independence. Advertising and partnerships never change what a guide recommends.
How we test the tools
Each tool is tested on current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge, on desktop and on phones and tablets. We check that key repeat is ignored, that late presses are rejected, that the timer finishes on time even when a tab is briefly busy, and that scores match a manual count. The method is described in how a spacebar counter works and is a spacebar counter accurate?.
How pages are reviewed
Pages are reviewed when a tool changes, when a reader reports a problem, and at least once a year. The “last reviewed” date at the bottom of each page shows the most recent review.
Health and safety content
Practice advice (warm-ups, breaks, posture) is general and cautious, and always says to stop if something hurts. We do not give medical advice and we point readers to qualified professionals for pain or injury.
Corrections
If you find a mistake, tell us on the contact page. We check the report, fix confirmed errors quickly and update the review date. If a correction changes the meaning of a page, we say so on that page.
Who we are
Spacebar Counter is run by a small independent team. Read more on the About page.
