What is a CPS test?
A CPS test, also called a click speed test, measures how many times you can click the mouse button (or tap a screen) in a set time. Your score is clicks per second: total clicks divided by seconds. Players of Minecraft, Roblox and other games use it to practise fast clicking, and many people simply enjoy chasing a higher score.
How to take the CPS test
- Choose a time from 1 to 60 seconds, or type your own.
- Click the large pad. The first click starts the timer and counts.
- Keep clicking until the time runs out. The pad locks so late clicks do not count.
- Check your average, maximum and minimum CPS and the chart. Enter a player name to submit your score.
What is a good CPS score?
Around 5 to 7 clicks per second is common for a normal mouse click. Practised players reach 8 to 10, and techniques such as jitter or butterfly clicking can go higher but are tiring and hard on the hand. Treat the numbers below as practice reference points rather than official grades.
| Test time | Comfortable (6 CPS) | Fast (8 CPS) | Very fast (10 CPS) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 second | 6 | 8 | 10 |
| 5 seconds | 30 | 40 | 50 |
| 10 seconds | 60 | 80 | 100 |
| 30 seconds | 180 | 240 | 300 |
How to improve your CPS
- Use a light, responsive mouse and a clean surface.
- Keep the hand relaxed; tension slows clicks.
- Practise short 5-second tests, then add 10 and 30 seconds.
- Rest between rounds and stop if your hand hurts.

CPS test on mobile
Tap the pad with one or two fingers. Every touch counts as one click. Touchscreen scores and mouse scores use different hardware, so keep them separate when you compare. See the mobile guide for tips.
The Kohi click test and the 10-second CPS benchmark
The Kohi click test takes its name from a Minecraft server where players first used a 10-second clicking test to compare their PvP click speed, and the 10-second run has stayed the usual benchmark. This page is a click speed test with the same measurement: choose the 10 s button above and your result is the same kind of number a Kohi-style test gives, your clicks divided by 10. Shorter runs of 1 to 5 seconds show burst speed; longer runs show how well you hold a pace.
CPS formula: how clicks per second is calculated
CPS equals the number of clicks divided by the number of seconds. 60 clicks in 10 seconds is 6 CPS, and 90 clicks in 15 seconds is also 6 CPS. This test records every click with the browser’s high-resolution clock, ignores clicks after the timer ends and shows your average, fastest second and slowest second so a single lucky second does not hide your real pace.
Regular, jitter, butterfly and drag clicking explained
| Technique | How it works | Things to know |
|---|---|---|
| Regular clicking | One finger clicks the button at a steady rhythm. | Comfortable and accurate. Most people sit in the middle range. |
| Jitter clicking | Tensing the forearm and wrist so the hand vibrates and the finger clicks rapidly. | Can be fast but tiring, and can strain the hand. Take breaks. |
| Butterfly clicking | Two fingers alternate on the same button. | Needs a mouse where both fingers fit; can be hard to aim with. |
| Drag clicking | Dragging a finger across the button surface to create many rapid clicks by friction. | Depends heavily on mouse and surface, can be hard on the finger, and many games and servers restrict it. |
Community-quoted speed ranges for these techniques vary widely and are not measured here, so use your own results to compare. This tool counts left-button clicks only, and a click that is not a physical, separate press does not count as extra. Scores above what the Top 500 treats as physically possible are rejected automatically. Always check the rules of the game or event you are practising for before using any technique.
Mouse factors: switches, polling rate and debounce
Your click speed depends on your mouse as well as your hand. Light microswitches and short pre-travel help; a higher polling rate reduces delay between click and computer; debounce is the short delay a mouse uses to ignore electrical bounce, and a very long debounce can swallow fast clicks. A worn switch can do the opposite and register one click twice, which you can check with the double click test.
CPS test for Minecraft, Roblox and other games
Fast clicking helps in games that reward rapid attacks, such as Minecraft PvP, Roblox combat and clicker games, but aim, timing and game rules matter more than raw speed. Use this CPS test as a warm-up and a way to track progress, and remember that a game may limit the clicks it registers per second.
CPS test FAQ
What does CPS mean?
CPS means clicks per second, calculated as total clicks divided by test time in seconds.
What is the average CPS?
Many people click around 5 to 7 times per second with a normal click. That is an informal range, not a measured average from this site.
How do I get a higher CPS?
Relax your hand, use a responsive mouse, practise in short rounds and compare scores from the same device.
Does a CPS test work on a phone?
Yes. Tap the pad; each touch is one click. Mouse and touch scores should be compared separately.
Why does the pad lock after the test?
So late clicks cannot change your result. Press Restart to try again.
What is the Kohi click test?
It is a 10-second click speed test named after a Minecraft server. Choose the 10 s button on this page to take the same kind of test: your score is clicks divided by 10.
Is jitter clicking bad for your hand?
It can be. It relies on muscle tension and repeated rapid movement, which can tire or strain the hand and wrist. Warm up, keep sessions short, rest often and stop if you feel pain.
Does drag clicking count on this CPS test?
The test counts the separate click events your browser receives from the left mouse button, so any technique that produces real clicks is counted. Scores above the physical limit for the test time are rejected from the leaderboard, and you should check whether a game or competition allows the technique.
Can I do a right click CPS test?
This test counts left-button clicks only; right-button clicks are ignored so the score stays comparable.
What is a good CPS for a 10-second test?
Around 5 to 7 is common for regular clicking, 8 or more is fast and 10 or more is very fast. These are informal practice reference points, not measured statistics.
